Red and White Fleet (RWF) dba Golden Gate Steamship Co., Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 43 ½, Port of San Francisco
Contracted as the project and environmental permit manager for RWF’s tour boat excursion business established in 1892 at the Port of San Francisco. The first project was to secure a new long-term lease (rather than monthly) with the Port and upgrade the facility operations with a redesign of floats and shoreline public access to improve efficiency and circulation. The Project involved a new slightly enlarged ticket booth, the design of which is to reflect the business’s history on the Bay. The Port approved a 30-year lease, and permits were secured from the City of San Francisco Planning Department, the S.F. BCDC, S.F. Bay RWQCB, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The second and current project is to secure permits for the waterside improvements of installing and relocating the berthing system in coordination with the PG&E Remediation Project for Piers 39, 43 ½ and 45.
